Entering into month 8

Yep, we’re entering into month 9 of "waiting" for our precious Baby “E”.  Sometimes it seems like it’s been an eternity since we attended our orientation meeting, then other days it seems like it was yesterday that we started this long but exciting journey.

As we enter into month 9 we often hear questions like:
  • Have you had your baby yet? This cracks us up!! Really?
  • You and Fred seem to be holding up so well, how are you managing?
  • What are you doing to pass the time?
  • How will you find a birthmom?
  • How much longer, WE are tired of “waiting”. This is by far our favorite!!
  • How are you guys feeling?

Here are our responses to those questions in case others are wondering….
  • No, Baby “E” hasn’t arrived yet; we assure you we will let you know when he/she arrives. We promise you we aren’t keeping Baby “E” at home hidden from everyone.  We promise we will tell you!
  • We are holding up so well because we know without a doubt that this WHOLE process is within the providence of God; from the time of conception, to the birthmom making this beautiful unconditional act of selfless love, to the birth, and then to being placed into our arms/and home, and finally having a lifetime of open communication with the birthmom. Of course, your constant love and support has helped more than you’ll ever know
  • Amy’s consumed with getting as much organizing done as humanly possible. From organizing closets, to painting rooms, purging, cleaning Fred’s office, etc. She also has bible study, working and that crazy thing called life that keeps us all busy. Fred is staying busying by working, reading and working-out. He’s such a guy!!
  • We don’t locate our birthmom, the birthmom will choose us. We made a book of our life together and from this she will get her first look at us. We’re told that “something” always stands out to the birthmoms that make them want to meet that couple. From there we’ll receive a call from the agency saying a birthmom would like to meet us. We’ll get a run down of information on her and baby and if we’d like to meet her we’ll meet and see if it’s a match and go from there!
  • We know this isn’t a question, but a statement…..How much longer, WE are tired of “waiting”. We love this statement because it warms our heart so much. This baby is so loved by so many people already.
  • We are feeling GREAT, but ready to meet our birthmom and soon after Baby "E".

Within the last couple of weeks I’ve begun to wonder what I’m going to feel when we receive “that call”…nervousness, scared, elated, surprised, relieved, happy – of course. I just realized that this call will be the closest thing for me to experiencing what it would be like to find out I am pregnant.I just hope that I can reach Fred that day!
Everything is ready for this little person.Yes, we do have names picked out.The only thing left we have to buy are some clothes, otherwise he/she is going to be know as the Naked Baby. But with the hot Texas summer maybe that’s not a bad thing.  LoL

We continue to pray for God’s blessing over our future birthmom/birthfather and Baby “E”. We’ll see you soon Baby “E”, until then know that we’re waiting with open arms and that your loved very much!

Celebrate Freedom 22

Yesterday's high in Dallas was 97 with a heat index of 99-100 with nothing but sun and blue skies.  This is what is know as a summer cool front because the actual temp was under 100, but if your like me and you grew up here you know this as just a normal summer day!  But, what's crazy is when you choose to spend all day outside (and not in water) and that's exactly what we did.

We spent the day/night at Southfork Ranch, yes, the same ranch that the tv show Dallas is center around with THOUSANDS of other people at a free outdoors Christian concert.  It was awesome!  We went the day with some of our best friends their two daughters, my brother, sister-in-law and some other friends.  We inhaled water, ate ice cream, sandwiches, funnel cakes, drank more water, ate some crazy looking fried potates and some yummy watermellon that we snuck in. We jamed with the bands and sang praises to our GOD.  Would could possibly be better than that.....

We worshiped our God by singing and dancing to Him with THOUSANDS of strangers. All the bands playing where leading Christian artists;  Kutless, Jars of Clay, Sanctus Real, Amy Grant, Sidewalk Prophets, Leeland, For King & Country, Hawk Nelson and so many more!!!  At the end of the night when you just couldn't stand it anymore - FIREWORKS.

As far as I'm concerned it's the best way to start the 4th of July celebrations.  Celebrating our God who created this great country.  God Bless America.

Enjoy the pictures

Shhhh, sneaking water into our chair bags!
